Extract Files From MS Office Docs

less than 1 minute read

Description:

I have only tested this on Powerpoint, but I read that it works on other files as well. Essentially, if you get a file with a lot of pictures and you want to extract them easily – follow this tweak!

To Resolve:

  1. Run “control folders” – Show file extensions

  2. Rename the file to .zip

  3. Delete the files in the “embedded” folder.

  4. Rename back to .pptx

  5. Open the file and verify it opens. If it doesn’t you need to make sure you didn’t change the structure of the zip file.
